Jonna Lee berasal dari Stockholm, kota dimana ia membangun sebuah klab bernama Popmarathon untuk mendukung perkembangan scene musik di kota itu. Pada awalnya ia merekam sebuah album elektronika, cuma karena dia tidak merasa cocok, akhirnya tidak jadi dipublish, dan Jonna Lee membuat sebuah rekaman pop akustik yang lembut.

Seringkali ia dibandingkan dengan Feist, dan jawabannya adalah “You’re not the first one to have said that!” . Dia mengaku belum pernah mendengarkan Feist sebelumnya. Sedangkan untuk penulisan lirik dikatakan bahwa ia banyak terpengaruh oleh Agatha Christie sang penulis novel misteri yang terkenal.

Dan belum lama ini mp3 lagu “the district sleeps alone tonight” milik The Postal Service yang dibawakan secara akustik oleh Jonna Lee beredar diberbagai penjuru internet, dan menjadi incaran para “cover version freaks”.

Pada akhir tahun lalu Jonna Lee merilis “10 pieces, 10 bruises” (Razzia Records). coba dengarkan beberapa lagunya di www.jonnalee.com
